Group Policy Drive Mapping Win2k DC, XP SP3 Client - Not working

I am on Windows 2000 SP4 DC with XP SP3 clients. I am trying to use GP to map network drives using the computer configuration. I also want to disconnect them when the system is shut down. I think that I have set up the group policy properly using a bat script attached to an OU. But nothing is getting mapped on the client. If I run gpreport on the client it lists the new policy in addition to the domain default. I am also getting a message on the client during logoff, that says it cant find the script. I then ran adsiedit on the DC and from that I can tell that the script location on the DC is correct. After researching, I found out that with XP clients you need to create the policy on the XP system due newer client side extensions. So, after going into the XP computer policy I was getting acces denied everywhere. I dont know where else to look to, so if anyone can give me some suggestions, it would be helpful.

I think that GPOs have to be linked to OUs that contains the user or computer accounts, which is correct. Also you can check if the policy is applied properly. So that both works, except for configuration. You can try to post the script content you are using, I am guessing that it is a set as startup/shutdown script?
