Error message for nVidia(r)Video Drive download

help! my 2 yr old gateway monitor turned green and they won't help because it's out of warranty! it's not the cable, as i tried another one. it's not the monitor as i hooked it up to a different system and it worked fine. i then received instructions on gateway livechat to install a driver update for the nVidia(r) video drive, but when i follow the link, i get this message: not able to make a successful connection over FTP. Most likely cause of this problem is that a firewall client running on your machine is blocking the necessary FTP ports. i disabled the firewall (i run XP)but it still won't work.
do you have any other ideas on how to fix this, or how to at least figure out why my screen has no reds?
