AMD / ATI - Catalyst 9.2 Helps reduce the OC potential?
After installing the Catalyst 9.2 driver on a system with HD 4870 1024, we noticed that the card is no longer - as formerly with the Catalyst 9.1 - to 800, only 780 MHz chip clock was over clock. This took the form of pixel errors. After the re-install the Catalyst 9.1 were then 800 MHz is possible. Even with older Catalyst versions.Meanwhile, we were able to conduct two additional 4870-HD card - even one with only 512 MiB - and an HD 3850 adjust.
Has anyone perhaps any idea what's wrong or can same behavior even with a personal note? I would be happy about every comment.

No, I can not. Use still the same clock rates of 800/1000Mhz, like Catalyst 9.1! Have a Power Color Radeon HD4870/512MB.
Re: AMD / ATI - Catalyst 9.2 Helps reduce the OC potential?
The first depends on how you examine the OC (or FurMark-default-3DM06), and second, this is nothing new. A driver change is partly due to the load and then let the clock no longer so high.

hi,
We have seen this in various 3D games reviewed. Even in those where there was no increase in power and thus theoretically the load should be unchanged. Yes, a few megahertz can be with new drivers. But we are already talking of about 20 MHz difference. That can, in my view, not just with "new driver" dismiss.
