Sony Vaio, CD drive locked
hi,
I started having problems with my Sony Vaio PCG-K35 PCG-K37 DVD Burner CD CDRW ROM Drive, the drive can not detect when i insert a new info disc.but the little green light on the drive is on.I'm not sure which recently installed software has affected the drives. i have to keep on pressing the eject button for atleast 10 to 20 times to eject the cd in the drive.What has happened and what is the solution?Can anyone help!!!

You can use a straightened out paperclip to open the drive. There should be a small hole in the front of the drive, and just insert the paperclip into that hole. The drive should pop open.

Please try again to eject the tray after close the all using softwares or after shutdown the system and then start the Windows.If none of the above options work, insert a thin, straight objuect (such as a paper clip) in the manual eject hole in the side of the drive.'

I found a program called CDRom-Lock which does just that – locks your cd-rom. It can open, close, lock and unlock either a single cd-rom or all of them simultaneously.
