USB keyboard not recognized by windows
Hi there,
Whenever I plug my USB keyboard into my new computer, a little balloon and the bottom pops up saying that it cannot recognize the USB device. There are no drivers or software for the keyboard. Also, the keyboard worked perfectly fine on my other computer. Can anyone help me?
Thank in advance.
Re: USB keyboard not recognized by windows
It is possible you need to install drivers for your keyboard and mouse. You could also try a google search for your particular usb keyboard or model. Try using another non usb keyboard to initially log in and then try and setup your keyboard or mouse once you get into windows. I hope this helps.
Re: USB keyboard not recognized by windows
If you are using a USB keyboard, and the computer has a serial port for a traditional keyboard, buy a USB Serial adapter. You can go to your device manager and see if your USB ports are working. You will see some kind of icon next to them if its not working.

Try to Remove Hidden Devices:
- Press Start button
- Click on Run
- Type cmd and press OK.
- Type: set DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS=1 and press Enter
- Type: set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 and Enter
- Type: start devmgmt.msc and press Enter
- Then Click View
- Click Show hidden devices
- Click “+” to expand Imaging devices, Unknown devices and USB devices.
- If found any USB devices and unknown devices right click it and click Uninstall.
