Itunes slow on vista
hi
i have windows vista on my pc but as i started to use iTunes because of my brand new iPhone, but his software sucks for big time. It constantly takes up 50% of my CPU , when I am not doing anything,I have download the newest version! Can you please help? thank you

just check for your installation that is proper also run pc in safe mode run itune again restart and try ........

hat's not normal. I use iTunes all the time and it's very easy on my CPU and takes up 50MB of RAM. If you're running it for the first few times maybe it's trying to create genius lists of all of your music, or trying to create thumbnails for the cover art. I'd just leave it open overnight and see what happens.

if you disable xml indexing (let's hope you don't need it) it goes much faster. this is supposedly affecting users of windows desktop search on xp, too. since i've disabled xml indexing searchfilterhost.exe takes much less cpu (beforehand it took like 80% which is a bit insane since it's by default at the lowest priority).

disabling the .XML file extension from being indexed in the Indexing Options control panel. I tried to disable the indexing of xml files. Strangely, after I set it to either index properties only or uncheck it and then click okay, the next time I open the Indexing Options, the xml filter is reenabled..
