Have lost Accessories and Games
Hey Guys,
Accidentally i have lost my Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Word, and Games from the start up menu. Does any one have any idea that how can i restore it back on my system? By the way i'm running Windows Xp on my system. Any help on it would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Re: Have lost Accessories and Games
Try to follow the below steps mention.
1. Start-> Control panel (click) -> add /remove programs
2. Go to add /remove programs(click).
3. At accessories and utilizes and click on details.
4. Check if games is unchecked or not. If unchecked, then it has been uninstalled. Check the box next to games.
5. In the same dialog click accessories and then see if calculator is checked or not. If unchecked again. Check the box next to calculator.
6. Put your Windows Xp disc into Cd drive.
If both of the above are checked and still you don't have your shortcuts. Then remove them from add/ remove windows components and then reinstall it.
Re: Have lost Accessories and Games
It is rather difficult to uninstall these "built-in" games, and they are not located in the Program Files folder. They exist simply as stand-alone .exe files in the WINDOWS \ system32 folder. And if the person only deleted the shortcuts then they can find them down there and create new shortcuts. If the games were uninstalled as Windows Components on the Accessories and Utilities \ Games checkbox, then they should still be available there by re-checking the selection box and installing. By the way, to see the listing select and highlight Accessories and Utilities without un-checking the item and then click the "Details" button below.

If you head over to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components. You'll be able to check to see if the games are currently installed, or not and reinstall them. From memory I think they're listed under Accessories and Utilities.
