Cannot connect at 1000mbps
Hi all...!
I have recently brought a Gigabyte motherboard with Intel G32 Chipset and Realtek LAN chipset which has Gigabit [1GB] LAN port...! But i am not able to connect to LAN at 1000MBPS speed. It remains 100mbps no matter what i do...! Any help...!?
Re: Cannot connect at 1000mbps
Hey there!
Which cable are you using? The cable is also responsible for LAN speed connection... like CAT 3 connects only to 10Mbps full duplex. So make sure you using use appropriate cable... If anymore issues post back!
Re: Cannot connect at 1000mbps
Hi..!
Use CAT 5e cable. It support 1000mbps connection speed? CAT 5 does the wor too, but it is preferable if you use CAT5e. For more info check out this thread : http://forums.techarena.in/networkin...ty/1131136.htm
Hope this helps you out...! All the best!
Re: Cannot connect at 1000mbps
Hey all...!
I guess your problem is not about the cable alone... Even if you use CAT5e cable you won't be able to connect to 1000Mbps unless you have a gigabit switch...! If your central hardware [switch] isn't supporting 1000mbps then how will you be able to get that speed? Didn't think! Right? You will need a 1000mbps switch first, only then the cables would help you in true sense...
Hope this helps you screw your problem...!
All the best!
