Update error code : 57E

Hello,

I have Windows vista. With me automatic updates are switched on, up to now went also everything well. But now the system always fails because of installing two updates:

Safety update for Excel 2003 (KB940602)
Error detail: Code 57E

Safety update for Office 2003 (KB936048)
Error detail: Code 57E

That particularly excites, because I must wait each time when driving down, until the PC notices that it cannot install the two.
I also with assistance and support looked, also on the Microsoft homepage, all nothing used, I did not find out also, what means 57E…

I do not have notion that it lie could, so far had I never such a problem. Therefore I would be very glad around proposals for solution.

A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Office Word 2003 that could
allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened. This update resolves that vulnerability.

Follow this :
1. Go to Control Panel>Windows Update>View avaliable updates
2. the list of "failed" updates will appear
3. right click the failed update
4. select "View Details"
5. go to the section labled "More Information"
6. you are taken to or you can directly go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
7. i manually downloaded each of my failed updates and it worked fine.
