How to type without keyboard?
I had a new Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000...Few days back, some solid object fell hard on my computer due which most of its keys are not working properly. I can manage doing other operations with the mouse but when it comes to typing text, it really gets hell out of my mind. I am posting this thread with my friend's keyboard.
Is there any way I can type without using a keyboard? please suggest some ideas.....
thanks
Re: How to type without keyboard?
There is an built-in option provided by Microsoft called On-Screen Keyboard (OSK)
- On-Screen Keyboard lets you type and interact with your computer using an alternative input device like a switch, rather than the physical keyboard.
- On-Screen Keyboard displays a visual keyboard with all of the standard keys. You can select keys using the mouse or another pointing device, a small groups of keys, or just one key, depending on how you set up On-Screen Keyboard.
On-Screen Keyboard looks something like this :
There are two ways to start On-Screen Keyboard:
- Start On-Screen Keyboard from Quick Access to common tools for use in the current session, or
- Turn on On-Screen Keyboard so that it automatically starts each time you log on.

Follow this steps :
[1] Start Menu
[2] Go to Programs
[3] Select Accessories
[4] Then select Accessibility
[5] Finally, select On-Screen Keyboard
A graphical built-in keyboard will be displayed on your screen which you can operate with your mouse very easily.
Enjoy.....

There is another option to find OSK using your keyboard.
Well, you might be thinking if keyboard is not working properly then how to go further....
This is for those whose atleast O, S and K keys are working....
Start menu >>> Then Select Run >>> Type in OSK >>> Press OK
