hie,
I want to know is there any way to restart the computer through internet?
This seems to be the easiest for me...
I use remote desktop here at work to connect to my computer at home...
I just run "msconfig" and then close out of it...
It asks you to restart the computer...
Very simple...
This can occur if
- A broadband cable modem or an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) modem is installed on your system, and the modem is using drivers that cause a fatal system (STOP) error.
-and-- The Automatically restart check box is selected under System failure in the Startup and Recovery dialog box (under System Properties).
In the Windows NT Resource Kit,there is a small utility called "SHUTCMD.EXE" included, that you can use to shutdown or restart a local or remote computer.
For example, you can shutdown the local computer by running: SHUTCMD /L
-to shutdown a computer on your network ("SERVER1" being the name of the computer you want to shutdown):
SHUTCMD \\SERVER1 /Y
-to shutdown a remote computer connected to the Internet ("205.56.44.24" being the IP address of the computer you want to shutdown):
SHUTCMD \\205.56.44.24 /Y
I think what you are looking for is RealVNC.
It is a service on the Host computer (the one you want to reboot), and you can run it through a web browser (Just connect to port 5800) from the remote machine.
