Mac OS X 10.5.7 in testing

Apple would launch this week the testing phase, with the developers of the forthcoming update to Mac OS X "Leopard", which will so to version 10.5.7. The update will bring with it, as usual, numerous bug fixes and general improvements to various components and operating system services. According to the rumors leaked by someone who has already had occasion to try the new update, Apple has paid particular attention to solving some problems of synchronization.

Not only that: the new update would solve a number of problems (not yet specified) for Mail, Address Book and System Preferences, in addition to a problem that under certain circumstances does not allow Safari to accept cookies. Bugfix also affected by other components of the operating system like Time Machine, printing services and screen sharing, synchronization with MobileMate, services AirPort, graphics drivers and iCal.

Mac OS X 10.5.7 is the seventh update of maintaining Leopard, released in October 2007. The public release is planned for the next few weeks and it is possible that this is one of the last updates prior to distribution of the new operating system Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard".

The weight of it seems pretty consistent: the available information show the size of 440MB for the upgrade from 10.5.6, surely destined to grow in the case of so-called "combo" usable with any version of Mac OS X.

Again, no problem, with 10.5.6 I found that stable and successful.

I wonder if they will not break their tradition output 10.X.8, 10.X.9 etc. .. before the upcoming release of their next OS.

obviously the bug FileVault and Time Machine is not resolved at once OS X decides never to save the home directory when FileVault is enabled..

I think it's going to come out when Snow Leopard does, or soon after/before it, for Leopard users at least.

Well, thats on MacWorld Expo 09. SnowLeopard release with Safari 4. And Leopard 10.5.7 with security updates and Safari 4.
Leopard 10.5.6 will release within 2 months. Thats by November end.
