Vista is running in startup loop
Hello everyone,
Well, I got a pc from a friend who wants to reinstall all its systems, including Vista Ultimate 32bits. All relocation went well but afterwards the problems began ...
So the next day, I turned on the pc and to my surprise, it runs in the loop before loading vista green bar. Being able to boot on the installation DVD, I reformat the drive via the command prompt available in the Vista repair. But the problem remains the same at each resettlement and stop / start (not restart) Vista does not start ... So I then look on the side of bootmgr and fixboot ... but it is always the same because sometimes when vista will not start, I got a screen full of text but do not get the time to read it. I hope someone can help me, I looked on the forums, no solution works I even tried to install XP but it crashes after the first stage of installation.
Thanks in advance
Re: Vista is running in startup loop
Try booting to safe mode once and then see if it will boot normally.

Re: Vista is running in startup loop
Yes have you run the repair more than once?
How did this all start? Any unusual symptoms before the problem arose? What was the last thing you did related to the system when booted up?
Have you tried chkdsk /r on all the drives from the command prompt?
Try chkdsk C: /r at the x:\windows\system32\ prompt. You don't want to actually change to the drive because it will then be in use.
After chkdsk runs, see if any bad sectors are mentioned in the report.
Re: Vista is running in startup loop
I would start with a memtest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/), otherwise it can be a problem with page file. No other idea what else can cause that.
