Sound card inactive after windows crash
Hello everybody,
I played warcraft 3 in a network via hamachi when my pc restarts automatically. I tried to uninstall the drivers for the sound card and then reinstall it but without success. It is impossible to open the "Volume Control" it sends me an error message, or it ask me to add hardware via the control panel, I also open the device manager, there is "ATI Function Driver for High Definition Audio - ATI AA01" and "Realtek high definition audio" with an Exclamation mark, these devices can not start blabla.
My config:
MSI P4M900M2
E2140
3GB kingston
XP Pro
I do not know what to do if you have any ideas please let me know, thank you in advance
Re: Sound card inactive after windows crash
You can try a system restore to a date prior to your problem or try to repair the boot into XP CD.
Re: Sound card inactive after windows crash
i was having the exact same problem using a creative x fi gamer sound card. i disabled the card in the bios and then tried installing the drivers direct from creative. i am running vista 64 bit system. I replaced everything. is this a new install for the sound card only? i enabled the on board and disabled the creative product and the system was stable. have you gone to creative website and d/l the most recent drivers? I would also check your timing on your ram chips. usually the irq blue screen will be ram or a driver issue. the only other thing to do is remove the sound card and use the onboard to see if the system hangs. sorry I couldn't be of more help but it is a start to isolate the problem.
Re: Sound card inactive after windows crash
Each Device that has the Yellow ! is missing it's driver. You need to obtain the appropriate drivers for your system and get them installed.
If your system came from one the major manufacturers, locating driver downloads is typically quite easy. For example, at Dell's web site, you can key in your Serial Number and go directly to the correct drivers for your system. Several drivers will show - some optional, some recommended - you would want to download and install the recommended drivers. HP/Compaq is similar, as is Toshiba, as are other major manufacturers.
If your system is home built, you will need to know the manufacturer of each component that has a Yellow ! showing for us to locate the correct drivers.
If you want to provide your system information - manufacturer, etc., I would be happy to locate the correct driver download page for you.

What is the make/model of the laptop? Was the sound working fine before? Did you get any error message regarding sound? Have you installed the proper driver for your laptop sound?
