Windows Mail problem 0x800CCC0F

I'm so furstrated!!! I seem to be having trouble recieving e-mail most of the time. Sometimes it will come through, but, not always. The message is:

Your server has unexpectedly terminted the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. The Port: is 25. No, Error number 0x800CCC0F.

I use Windows Mail. Is there a service pack to correct this problem? I'm NOT computer savey! I checked with Charter and they said it is not a problem with them. I called Microsoft and they suggested I call their tech line (for a cost). I wouldn't mind if I was employed at this time. But, like many other people at this time, I'm not. Can anyone out there help me?

Yes, I'm not sure if they pertain to Windows Mail or are the answers for all Windows Mail (Express and so forth) or different ports. As I said I'm NOT very computer savey. I did change the Trend Anti Virus so that there is not an outgoing scann. I have not added any new programs lately. This problem started just recently. Maybe the last month.
