vCore settings for 3.4 GHz frequency
I wanted to know if you think about 1.26V for the vCore is enough for a frequency of 3.4 GHz? I am having E8400.
Detail: In the bios I have set 1.35V and it shows 1.31v in bios ... and with 1.34V Everest and with CPUZ 1.26 at rest and over 1.248 from what I've noticed ...
Re: vCore settings for 3.4 GHz frequency
For the overclocking, you do not even need to touch the vCore
Re: vCore settings for 3.4 GHz frequency
In general, a E8400 can take 3.6 GHz voltage leaving home, sometimes even more.
Otherwise, the voltage difference between the "theoretical" in the BIOS and voltage "real" by CPUZ is normal since the EIST is enabled in the BIOS.
Re: vCore settings for 3.4 GHz frequency
Already thank you for your answers!
So to clarify, I have an Asus Striker Extreme Motherboard => 680I SLI
I disabled in the bios on the control type stuff EIST etc ...
I dare not go further, since I do not know the real T° CPU => Yes the problem with the E8400 is that often indicates the probe T° wrong ... jms if the revision is C0 my CPU ...
Re: vCore settings for 3.4 GHz frequency
Do not exaggerate either! Look already the temperature that you have the frequency of origin with an app like CoreTemp or Hardware Monitor ... you will see if the sensors are correct.
Thereafter, up to 3.6GHz and is now between 1.20 and vCore 1.25V it will not heat too ...
