Astronomy courses and Career
hi i am in ssc and very ambitious about my career i am best in my study and school however i am good in computer but i am interested to pursue my Career in astronomy.i want to know what is criteria to do that and how. and also tell me is there good hopes for this field?
Re: Astronomy courses and Career
hi
great you are really career oriented and its good thing but to actually get inside you need degree like (M.Sc. degree in Physics/Maths or M.Tech in Engineering and exceptional candidates with B.E./B.Tech degree and a good background in physics are eligible to apply for admission to the IIA Ph.D. programme) after 12 you can go for Engineering then for higher level education with Astronomy .
Re: Astronomy courses and Career
Astrophysics is an allied field of astronomy and concerns itself with the physics of the universe. The science deals with physical properties such as density, temperature, chemical composition and luminosity of stars, planets, galaxies and the interstellar medium of their interaction.
Re: Astronomy courses and Career
Eligibility:
The eligibility for the course is BSc in physics or mathematics after 10+2/BE in electrical or electronics or electrical communications.
Aptitude:
· Good background in Astronomy and physics, mathematics and chemistry.
· Excellent skills in computers and art also required.
Re: Astronomy courses and Career
Career Options:
There are several institutions where astronomers are employed.
With a Bachelor’s degree one can get an entry-level research position in, for e.g.
1. An aerospace company
2. Satellite manufacturer
3. National laboratory or at a
4. Museum or
5. Science centre

Re: Astronomy courses and Career
astronaut training camps are not as popular in India. Though i recently heard that a Space World has already been commissioned at Lavassa, near Pune. Meanwhile, I can tell you of a group who take students to the US Space and Rcoket Centre at Huntsville, Alabama. It's called Space Camp India. At the Space Museum at Huntsville, you will get to perform hands-on astronaut training activities under simulated environments. The experience is highly realistic and enriching. Apart from that you will also get to interact with veteran astronauts and NASA reps. Perhaps you can get some of your queries answered there. Well... just go thorugh their website spacecampindia.com for details .
