no http files to share windows server 2000
I can access the server inside the network. But when I try to access the share files on the windows 2000 server through the VPN the follow message appears:
HTTP shares
There are no shares available.
I get the same message when I attempt to access the file using explorer inside the network.
Re: no http files to share windows server 2000
You'd better to make the old windows 2000 file server and the new windows 2003 file server as the member server within a domain.
- You may install File Server Migration Tool on the new file server.
- Launch the File Server Migration Wizard.
- Create a new migration project and save it in "C:\FileServerMigration"
- When you add source file server, please input hostname (inputting IP address of server is not supported)
- Please unselect the checkbox of "Resolve invalid Security descriptors" and select the checkbox of "Copy security settings"
- You may find that all the files and folders with Share and Security permission have been replicated to the target server.
- Since the Security descriptors (users and groups) are stored in Active Directory Database, all the folders and files can be accessible as normally.
- Please remove old file server and rename new file server to the old servers name.
Please note: you may perform the migration in the spare time since this migration can be transplant to the clients.

sorry, I think you answered the wrong question.
Re: no http files to share windows server 2000
Are you trying to access the server from a Windows 98 client? If yes, then read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826728
If not then have you tried the Windows network troubleshooter?
Go to Help and Support > Networking and the Web > Fixing Network or Web Problems > File and Printer Troubleshooter. Now select I can’t connect to a specific computer on the network and go from there.
If this doesn’t solve your problem, check some of the other options in the troubleshooter.
