Unable to work RPC over HTTP in Windows Vista
Hi,
I'm running Vista and Office2007 both in the RTM version.
I'm not able to use the RPC over HTTP function that works fine using a XP box with Office2003.
Using the KB831051 ( version 2.1 as of 15Nov 2006) , I can RPC Ping everything:
- RPC ProxyServer
- Store port
- Dsproxy port
Any idea on how I can debug any further this issue and then fix it please ?
Regards,
Re: Unable to work RPC over HTTP in Windows Vista
You can use the RPC Ping Utility to confirm the RPC connectivity between the computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server and any one of the supported Microsoft Exchange Client workstations on the network. Additionally, you can use the RPC Ping Utility to verify if the Microsoft Exchange Server services are responding to RPC requests from the client workstations through the network.
The RPC Ping Utility is part of the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools. To download the Resource Kit, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Re: Unable to work RPC over HTTP in Windows Vista
Check both the high and low speed connection boxes to force the client to always usr HTTPS. Outlook will probably still connect to the DC with TCP, but it should use HTTP for mail.
12044 = ERROR_WINHTTP_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT_NEEDED
Are you sure the certificate is correctly installed on the server? Private and Public keys are present? The client has the root cert of the CA installed?
