Vista/XP Home Network Problem
hi,
I have network in my home to share folders and printers, as occurs in a tutotrial with xp but there is no problem with the view to giving the option to share any folder on my folders in the view gives me a error: Incorrect function can not create, but in the center of shared resources have enabled the option of sharing files and then if I activate the folder from public access since I can not share my view with folders in vista, so I get the error: Incorrect function ..
But from my view I can see the xp and take their folders and copy.Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
Re: Vista/XP Home Network Problem
hi,
Try disabling the Windows Firewall and then see if you can connect. You might have to explicitly allow file and print sharing in the Windows Firewall.
Re: Vista/XP Home Network Problem
To access a shared printer from a computer running Windows xp, do the following:
- Click Start, and then click Network. The Network window displays a list of computers in the workgroup of the computer.
- Double-click the name of the computer containing the shared printer that you want to access.
- Right-click the shared printer that you want to access, and then click Connect. Alternately, you can double-click on Printers to see just the list of shared printers, and then right-click the shared printer that you want to access, and then click Connect.
- After you have connected to the shared printer, you will be able to print to this shared printer as long as the printer and the computer sharing the printer are turned on.
Re: Vista/XP Home Network Problem
Vista does not allow to share some personal folders. If anything, check the properties of good security and permissions,If they are folders that are inside user, Vista is not going to stop sharing. If you say where exactly are these folders or folders which are perhaps easier to help.
