Winamp crashes in windows xp
hi,
i recently bought Dell Inspiron 1521 AMD Single-Core 2GHz 15.4in Laptop (2GB/160GB/9-Cell),installed windows xp, Just wondering if anyone else has this problem,i tried opening Winamp and I noticed it wasn't working. Every time I open it up I get a message saying there was an error and it had to shut down. Any help will be extremely appreciated.
Re: Winamp crashes in windows xp
This problem occur if your Winamp probably have a bad plugin or setting:
- Uninstall Winamp and backup your Skins, bookmarks.
- Delete this folder %appdata%/winamp,this will delete all your saved settings.
- Install Winamp again. Now that should fix everything.
Re: Winamp crashes in windows xp
hi,
Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling winamp and see if that makes a difference?or ti may be software/windows problem. Also - winamp doesn't even install now (it starts to copy files and install, but it just closes 1/2 way. No errors, nothing. Just closes the installer).

hi,
i had the same problem,i removed Gen_LeosLyrics.dll from Winamp Plugins folder and I no longer get a crash when closing Winamp. The problem was introduced when I installed Winamp 5.12 but I don't remember what version I was using prior to that.
