VERY slow boot
I have XP home and after installing SP3 booting has become VERY slow (7 minutes) to Bios, OS, live cd - whatever. After it finally boots all works fine.
I don't understand how a windows update can effect boot to bios????? So maybe it's something else.
Will uninstall of SP3 take care of it? Howso?

Re: VERY slow boot
Yeah you can try by uninstalling SP3 and reinstalling . but i don't think so its because of installing SP3 , may be you have installed wrong bios update. refer this trick http://forums.techarena.in/tips-tweaks/1110825.htm . Hope you'll find some improvement in booting time.

Re: VERY slow boot
This problem also applies to booting to BIOs or a live cd as well as the OS. Windows fixes haven't helped. I just uninstalled SP3 and problem still there.

Re: VERY slow boot
I have put in another HD suspecting a bad sector in the boot. Same results. Now I'm very confused.
