Hyperlinks not opening in outlook 2007
Does anyone no why when i try to click on a link in my email in outlook 2007 I'm getting a message popping up "this operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator"
I am the system administrator and don't remember changing any effects.
Any help is appreciated.
Re: Hyperlinks not opening in outlook 2007
Same problem here--possibly caused after I upgraded Firefox to version 3beta4. I changed the default browser in 'set program access and defaults' to IE7 instead of Firefox and I found that I could open the hyper link from Outlook 2007. Seems to work now, so hopefully problem fixed! When Firefox releases version 3 again hopefully this problem will be rectified. Hope this information will help others having the same problem.
Re: Hyperlinks not opening in outlook 2007
You receive an error message when you click a hyperlink in Microsoft Outlook?
For Windows XP (Service Pack 1 and higher)
- Click Start, Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs
- Click Set Program Access and Defaults
- Click Custom
- Under Choose a default Web browser, select Internet Explorer
- Click OK
For Windows Vista
- Click Start, and click Default Programs
- Click Set program access and computer defaults
- Click Custom, select Internet Explorer and click OK
- Close and re-open Microsoft Outlook

Go to: Windows XP File Assocation Fixes
Download and run: HTM/HTML Associations (Restore the default associations for htm/html files)
The problem is caused by e.g. using a cleaner that has deleted the default associations in the registry for htm/html files. This one fixes the problem for both XP and Vista!!
Goodluck and have fun using your mail and explorer again!!!

THANK YOU. PERFECT. MUCH APPRECIATED. I had read that the problem could occur with both Outlook and Excel. My issue was Excel 2007 (links in the spreadsheet would not open) and your solution worked.
