Re: External Hard Drive not Showing Up
hi,
Device manager can create a new simple volume that formats it for you.Does your new drive have a letter assigned to it?Right click computer and select manage, select disk management your new disk should show up if you go to full screen. Then right click your new drive and select New Simple Volume.
Re: External Hard Drive not Showing Up
hi,
There is a voltage problem to the drive. Could even be a loose connection via the splitter cable or even the power supply.or The drive is not posting in the time allocated, drive motor spinning up slow.to slove the problem Swap the drives and make the slave the master and the master the slave. Hold down the OPTION key when you boot and select the operating system/drive of choice.
Re: External Hard Drive not Showing Up
first test your drive on another computer. Check your bios settings.Turn your computer off, then unplug the USB cable and then the power to the drive. Restart you computer, plug the power into the hard drive, wait 10 seconds and then plug the USB into the computer. This clears the hard drive buffer. See if the drive shows up in disk management. Before formating, turn off your antivirus.
