I would like to know that AVG 7.5 free version will work on my Windows Vista x64 Edition. some says that AVG Free is not compatible with Windows 64 bit. Has anyone had a problem installing avg antivirus free version 7.5 on Vista ?

All commercial versions of AVG are compatible with the 64-bit edition of Windows. AVG Free is not compatible with Windows 64 bit. AVG Anti-Virus Professional and Anti-Malware editions also run on Windows Vista. At time of writing the Firewall component and standalone Anti-Spyware are not Vista compatible. This is expected to be fixed soon.
Few security developers that deliver support for 64-bit Windows Vista. I am not saying that these are all, but they are the ones I managed to find. If you have anything to add, your input will be welcomed. Avast!, Grisoft AVG, McAfee, NOD32 and Symantec are all delivering support for 64-bit Windows Vista.

The newest version is also compatible with Windows Vista. AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5 7.5.476a1043 is compatible with Windows Vista 64-Bit
