In control panel there is no mail icon, help
Hello,
I have installed Office 2007, then I went to control panel but there is no mail icon in it. I have created profiles by using the /profile switch after the outlook executable but this is not pleasant. I have set up 3 windows vista machines so far this is the first with an issue. Is there a way to creat the shortcut like mail.msc or some such thing?
Thank you in advance.

Re: In control panel there is no mail icon, help
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the following Control Panel file exists and that it works as expected:
Drive:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\System\MSMAPI\1033\mlcfg32.cpl
2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\MMCPL
4. Make sure that the mlcfg32.cpl registry entry exists. Additionally, make sure that its value is set as follows:
Drive:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\System\MSMAPI\1033\mlcfg32.cpl
If the mlcfg32.cpl registry entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:
Right-click the MMCPL registry subkey, point to New, and then click String Value.
Type mlcfg32.cpl as the name of the registry entry.
Double-click the mlcfg32.cpl registry entry, type Drive:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\System\MSMAPI\1033\mlcfg32.cpl in the Value Data box, and then click OK.
5. Exit Registry Editor, and then open Control Panel. The Mail icon is displayed as expected.

To get to the Mail icon choose;
Start-> Control Panel-> Additional Options-> View 32-bit Control Panel Items-> Mail
If you have Outlook pinned to the top of your Start Menu there is a much shorter way to reach it;
Start-> right click on the Outlook icon-> Properties
