If you choose Run this program from its current location, the installer will automatically install the critical components onto your system. If you choose Save this program to disk, you will be prompted for a directory to download the installer. When download is completed, double-click advpack.exe to install the critical components. Also consider adding http://*.conxion.com and http://*.microsoft.com to your Trusted sites zone under Internet Options > Security in Internet Explorer.

Delete Temporary Internet Files:
- In your Internet Explorer window, open Tools menu, and then select Internet Options.
- Next, on the General tab click the Delete button.
- On the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click the following buttons to clear the temporary Internet Files:
- Delete Cookies
- Delete Files
- Clear History
- Restart Internet Explorer and try to run the Windows Update again.

hi,
Did you try deleting your cookies and checking your active x permissions. Perhaps your firewall is blocking your access to the update site. There are quite a few reasons for not being able to access the updates site.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
- Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
- Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
- Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.

- del C:\WINDOWS\SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION
- del C:\WINDOWSUPDATE.log
- Regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
- Net start wuauserv
- Wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow
