In the Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs.
Click on Office, and repair
Word Options / Customize Toolbar
I already proposed that thing, I even rebooted it, but nothing has changed, always the blue band and that's all
Or did you delete it there?
Also if it's not in the Temporary Internet Files, and the filename down in File>Open doesn't appear or doesn't work, your 2000 words are lost forever. Except, I hope, in your memory, so you can write something that resembles it. Maybe even better.
Try this first: Click the little black triangle at the right end of any toolbar & select Customize Toolbars/Menus. Go to the Toolbars page of the dialog that comes up, click on the _name_ of the Menu Bar, then click the Reset Button. If that offers no immediate fix, try restarting Word.
Post back with your results if Help still doesn't reappear.
