Windows Vista : Setting up an automatic backup for files
Hi,
I'm using windows vista ultimate version. The thing is i have many files on the PC which gets regularly update. So i was thinking there should be something like that can make automatically backup of these files. I mean daily at some particular time instead of doing it manually. If someone know anything about this, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Windows Vista : Setting up automatic backup of files
I think you are quite new to windows vista, I have the solution for you.Windows Vista includes a free tool for automatic data backup. This tool allows to back up: Pictures, Videos, Music, Mail, Documents, or compressed files ...
- First, do Start, then All Programs, click Accessories, System Tools and finally click on Status and configuration backup. A window status and configuration of the backup opens.
- Click Save file. Then start the configuration by clicking Configure automatic backup of files.
- The "Save Files" opens, choose the backup media: hard disk, CD, DVD, Network ... then Next. For my part, I chose a hard drive named Save.
- Then select the type of files to back up: Images, Music, Videos, Email, Documents, ... (Pass the cursor over one of a kind description for responding to the category).
- Finally, set the backup frequency you want (all the months, weeks, days), and click Save settings and start the backup.
Since then, the system will first perform a full backup. This may take more or less time depending on the volume of data to backup.
Finally, you can follow various information through this tool (date of last backup, the next backup), or change or disable the automatic backup.
The backups are stored (compressed) on the specified slot, you can restore it by using the same tool.

Re: Windows Vista : Setting up an automatic backup for files
I have Dell Inspiration 2200 laptop with microsolft vista as OS. When I tried to backup the file I get message:
"File backup could not save your automatic backup settings for the following reason:
The task image is corrupt or has been tempered with (0x80041321)"
How shall I repair this problem?
