Hi all,
Anybody using agv 8 antivires here? I have just decided to shift to Norton but avg is not uninstalling. after going to control panel and uninstalling avg kaspersky is giving me option to install not to uninstall . So please tell me the procedure to uninstall it.

AVG Remover utility removes all parts of AVG installation on your computer, including registry items, installation and user files on your disk, etc. AVG Remover is the least option to be used in case the AVG uninstallation / repair installation process has failed repeatedly.

Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Tool.
Turn off and disable all AVG-related services by using the tool accessible at Run > Services.msc. Launch the Task Manager to kill any currently running processes or services associated with AVG.
Then delete all directories referencing AVG or AVG8 or Grisoft from
C:\Program Files\,
C:\Program Files\Common Files,
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\,
C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\, etc.
Finally, run regedit and manually delete any remaining references to AVG, AVG8, or Grisoft.
Note: before editing the registry make the backup of registry .
Try running an uninstaller, like the one in CCleaner . Also try to search for files and folders related to AVG8 and manually delete them. But the best way is try by AVG removal utility . Hope this helps.
