Computer Randomly Goes To Stand By

i am using win xp now the problem is it randomly goes to stand-by mode. while i am playing a game and using the internet it will randomly turn of the monitor, but if I move the mouse it will come back. All the programs working fine. can any boady tell me what the problem is? thank you.

i think you initially check for Power Schemes section its may happen due to some power schemes that you set by mistakes or any one else did that so check for that.

i would suggest you that may be video card problem in which a few fixes are need to do for upgrades to you video cards bios.so upgrade reinstall driver also try load windows in safe mode. This loads a VGA generic driver. If this is successful then updated windows driver.

try the settings in bios
FOR VIA chipsets:
1. Activate the USB controller on your motherboard and assign it an IRQ.

2. Set 'Reset Configuration Data' to Enabled (in PnP/PCI section in BIOS).

3. Install the VIA PCI Miniport controller patch available from Via-Tech.

keep enough free IRQs, all your PnP devices should now fall into line without conflicts.
