Interactive Logon Process Initialization has failed
I am getting "Interactive Logon Process Initialization has failed" error message whenever I start Windows Vista now-a-days. I am unable to log in into my computer because of this error message.... Any one experienced such things before or have an idea how to fix this error?
Re: Interactive Logon Process Initialization has failed
Open Ease of Access center in Control Panel and click on Change Administrative Settings and uncheck Apply to all Logon.... Ease of access used to be called Accessibility Options. It sounds like the user inadvertently started one of those processes and I would go through them all to make sure.
Re: Interactive Logon Process Initialization has failed
Go to Repair (press F8 immediately after starting and select first choice), then go to command prompt from Repair window. The same window can be found via Vista installation DVD.
Then copy x:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.6000.16386_none_5d07289e07e1d100.manifest to C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.6000.16386_none_5d07289e07e1d100.manifest
Restart your system.
Re: Interactive Logon Process Initialization has failed
Vista will not do a 'repair install', but it will scan your current installation for problems and correct them if needed. This is accessible from the DVD.
Otherwise, you can do a clean install from the DVD, which will wipe your settings, but not your data. Applications will need to be installed again, however, and a backup before would be recommended.
