Change the Logon Screen Wallpaper

Hi,

I'm using windows XP. Right now logon screen is the default blue color. How do I change the wallpaper for the logon screen?

I'll show you how to change this color here, or the screen saver on this page, but you can also save an image from your personal collection. To do this:

• Go to the key HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
• Double click the string value Wallpaper
• Type the name (without extension) of the desired image.

Note: The image must be in %systemroot% (C:\Windows) and be .BMP

This procedure contains information about modifying the registry. Before you modify the registry, make sure to back it up and make sure that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem occurs.

To change the logon screen saver (instead of using the default logon.scr), you can use TweakUI. Similarly you can change the logon screen wallpaper (seen when you use Classic logon or when pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen)
