Do laptop CD/DVD writers have jumper settings?

Hi,
I am a bit curious about my new laptop?
I have this dell laptop & my friend have a compaq laptop.
Now i just want to know if these laptops also have any jumper setting for CD or DVD drives like we have in HDD & Writers for normal PC?

Please guide me! :)

Nope there aren't any jumpers in a laptop CD-ROM. as u cannot install additional internal devices, so there's no question of setting the slave and master thing! All the Best!

They don't have any jumper settings coz there is no way to replace primary and secondary boot devices like HDD and CD-rom, to replace them you have to consult with manufacturer .
