Why is my Intel LAN card not Connecting to friends nVidia LAN card??

Hi! i'm facing this strange problem! I configured my ip address and stuff well and did the same setup at my friends place :

My IP Details :

IP :192.168.0.100
SM :255.255.255.0
DG :192.168.0.1

Friend IP Details :

IP :192.168.0.101
SM :255.255.255.0
DG :192.168.0.1

But still i'm not able to connect with my friend's computer!! i've checked the cable but it is working. It always shows us as network cable unplugged! Can any one tell me what is wrong?? I want to connect the friends computer so that we can play games like Counter-Strike, FIFA and NFS. Please Help Guys!

Update your network card drivers on both the computers! Might help, or check you LAN cards on different System! If any one is faulty, you'll know wht the problem is...!

Cannot remove my network card, its integrated on the motherboard itself! i tried to put another LAN card on PCI slot on both machine [same vendor] but same problem! Please help guys!

Are you connecting your computers with the cable itself, i mean without a switch?? If so you need a different kind of cable know as "Cross Over Cable". Visit this Thread to know how to make a Cross Over Cable :
