Hard drive recognized in bios not in windows
Hello,
I pulled the pieces of my old configuration for me to base a new i7. before sending the pc to the store, I unplugged 1T hard disk which contained a lot of data. when I've recovered my new configuration, I installed XP (I have 2 other data drive recognized by vista) all goes well, I plug my hard drive 1T but see there , it is recognized in bios but not in vista. it is not recognized in the manager I have looked everywhere. Yet it is in the bios and startup ....
you have an idea ? thank you in advance.
Re: Hard drive recognized in bios not in windows
Do you mean that, although the BIOS shows all drives working, Device Manager does not show them (the hard drives) at all... and right clicking on My Computer and selecting Manage, then Disk Management, they don't even show up on the right hand side of the screen ?
Re: Hard drive recognized in bios not in windows
Right click on your computer and choose manage and then choose disk management and see if there is on disk or two if two disk so the drive letter is missing right click on each drive of the second disk and choose change drive letter and choose add to pick drive letter and done.if it isn't appear at all then from the same console choose the device manager to see if there is second hard disk or not and if there is so uninstall its driver by right click and choose uninstall and restart the pc if there is new hardware device unknown or there isn't second disk nor unknown device so the hard is damaged.
