Real player has stopped working in Windows XP

Hello,
When I leave Real Player, Word 2007 or some other programs, I have this message:

"real player has stopped working" or "word has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution to this problem One problem was that the program has stopped functioning properly. Windows will close the program and tell you if a solution is available .I do not see why I see this message occur in windows

You can try Empty the contents of the TEMP folder.
The Windows Temp folder is used by programs to store temporary files to complete tasks. When the tasks are completed or the program closes, the files in the TEMP folder are usually deleted. However, if the files are not deleted, you may receive errors. Windows uses temporary folders to process information and compress files. Empty them to keep too many unneeded files from using space on the hard drive. To delete your temporary files, try each of these solutions, according to your computer's operating system.

For best results, make sure all windows and programs are closed before proceeding:

Windows XP: Delete your Temporary Internet files.

1. Click the Windows Start button.
2. Go to Programs (or All Programs).
3. Go to Accessories.
4. Go into System Tools.
5. Click on Disk Cleanup.
6. Select the C: drive and click OK.
7. Make sure Temporary Internet Files is selected, and click OK again to delete the selected locations.

Temporarily disable background programs (short version):
Right-click the program's icon in the system tray (next to the clock), and choose Close, Exit, or Disable.

Restart your computer in Selective Startup.
Note: Selective Startup disables third-party security software such as firewalls and anti-virus software. For added protection, you could disconnect your computer from the Internet while you perform this test (either turn off your modem or disconnect the network cable). Additionally, running in selective startup may cause you to lose your Internet connection. Returning your computer to its Normal Startup mode should allow you to connect to the Internet again.
i do not recommend leaving your computer in selective startup, because this can render portions of your security software or other applications unavailable. Once you have determined which program is causing the problem, you should check the program's documentation or help site to see if the program can be configured to avoid the conflict.

These steps are only for troubleshooting issues you may be having. After determining if a background program is causing the problem, we recommend running the System Configuration Utility again and selecting Normal Startup.

Windows XP:

• Click the Windows Start button, then click Run.
• Type MSCONFIG, then click OK. The System Configuration Utility window opens.
• From the General tab, check Selective Startup.
• Uncheck Load Startup Items.
• Click Apply, then Close.
• Restart your computer.
