Access 2003 Compact networks and central database
I know very little SQL.
I built an Access 2003 which I put in a network using the access runtime installed on all workstations.
So I have a ridge on a network drive and a front on display in various posts and seizure (approximately 10).
I compacted the dorsal one evening checking first no.
Since there are error messages with "-1547 ..." indicating that the error is unknown and it blocks the macros.
I reset the linked table but in some cases, it still does not work. I am sure it is related to compaction. What to do? With the runtimes, I am forced to reinstall the local databases on items not equipped with Access.
I also think that there is a bug in Access because I do not see why it works once then it goes ... Did you notice? Thank you for your help.
Re: Access 2003 Compact networks and central database
What version of Access is installed on the client?
Re: Access 2003 Compact networks and central database
most users are on the Access2003 runtime to save the purchase of licenses.
The runtime does not suffice when action on the base itself to create tables.
I have created forms before and until I compact it worked well.
In fact, I think that compaction cut links between the foundation and basis frontal dorsal compacted.
Re: Access 2003 Compact networks and central database
Yes indeed. In access, it is best to avoid using compaction.
I believe that there are only two solutions:
1) you use a name compacted
2) if you want to compact the database, the client must have Access installed.
