Installing Vista on a new motherboard
Hello I have a Hp Pavilion A6216 Windows Vista Home Premium install on the hard disk. A partition contains the OS and I was able to format and reinstall on the motherboard of origin without any hassle.
Now I have changed the motherboard, so do you think I can install Vista with a new motherboard keeping the original hard disk?
Thank you.
Re: Installing Vista on a new motherboard
It is prohibited by your OEM.
And more activation is required in the BIOS.

You must purchase a license BOX of Vistaand not an OEM.

You can also test the beta version of Windows 7, if you are waiting to buy a new OS but the beta is only in English. There are still a few days before Microsoft downloads therefore suspend hurry if you want it (you have to start the download before Microsoft stops but you can install later). You can download and test the 2 versions: 32 bits and 64 bits.
