Qimonda DDR3 RAM in 46 nm
Qimonda announced the development of the first strip of RAM based on smaller chips 2 Gbits DDR3 memory in the world.
These chips 2 Gb of RAM is engraved according to the latest process Buried Wordline own Qimonda, which increases the fineness of burning to 46 nm. To 2 Gbps of capacity, these chips are only 55 mm ², a record in the matter.
This small area of chip enables to multiply by three the number of chips per wafer compared to a recording in 75 nm, and even lower production costs. The 46 nm also reduces energy consumption up to 75% for memory module density.
"With this first functional memory chip in 46 nm, Qimonda shows its potential to regain the technological domination of the market for memory," says the CEO of the firm, adding that Intel has also recently recognized as the supplier Qimonda DDR3 of the most advanced sector.
In bankruptcy, Qimonda take this ad for the return of interest to potential investors face. The firm says that no restructuring plan has yet been decided on his future. It still seems to remain some hope for the German manufacturer of memory.

they will leave too, now, gonna be difficult because the market is not favorable, even in RAM.I hope they can start again Really be that manufacturers stop selling at a loss, because it's dangerous for themselves there

Especially being in bankruptcy ... potential partners should be more cautious as to sign a deal with the type Quimonda "several million units over several months" since the box may close a week on the other ...

DDR3 has a lot of evil takes hold, the 2 had not had an easy life but the 3 I have the impression that it's worse! It is never as 3 months as the first true platform DDR3 is available, and it is still too elitist.

Logic also, when we see 4GB of DDR2 800 to € 40, you tell quickly that 4GB of DDR3 1066 MHz or 1333, with larger latency and twice the price is unattractive. short to my mind, the DDR3 below 1333MHz is not interesting, that at higher frequencies it is too expensive ... We lost the habit of putting in a lot of RAM. Then, for most people, the DDR3 still means a change of motherboard, it is not nothing. however, I think she should really take off this year, thanks to new Proco AMD and Intel in particular. remain to be seen whether prices will drop too much, but there's no reason they augmantent. for Qimonda, it would be quite unfortunate that a company as experienced throws in the towel. several manufacturers have already expressed their interret for their chips and their products are good. We'll see
