Speed Up Shared Folder Viewing In Windows XP
When we connect a Computer with Windows XP installed in it to other computer on a network and click network places, it waits for a long time before displaying the shared folders. This may be quite annoying to many users. Actually when you click on Network Places, Windows checks for any scheduled task on the shared computer, which is practically usless. This process can increase the wait time upto 30 seconds. Ever tried any tip to lessen this wait time? No? Here is a simple tip that will decrease your wait time by atleast 50%
Type "regedit" without quotes in the Run Dialog Box from Start Menu.
Then in Registry Editor Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace
Below That there should be a key called {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}
Just Delete this Key and reboot your computer! You can notice the wait time reduced considerably!
