Re: Negative hours message problem in Excel 2003
Hi, I understand the question.
Should you give more details on what you want to get.
otherwise I have solution which you can try, you have to write
= if (B1 <A1, A1-B1, A1-B1) And you'll get is a difference but without evidence. C1: I add a column with the following formula in C1:
= if (B1 <A1; "x ";"") D1: Then in in your column you do the multiplication formula in D1:
= if (C1 ="*"; B1 *- cell Y;
We must see what you are looking for.
Re: Negative hours message problem in Excel 2003
Hello,
My concern is more important to the extent the total obtained must be reused. Here's how it happens.
in the table below, when I type the formula:
subtotal 1 total + = balance subtotal 1 credit - 1 subtotal debit
Excel does not I see the result and have replaced with ######. when I want to continue and repeat the same operation for the total.
subtotal 2 in total total = 1 total + subtotal 2 credit - subtotal excel 2 speed.
Someone can help me. thank you
Re: Negative hours message problem in Excel 2003
Excel can not display negative hours format, time or date. Look in the help Time format problems and you will find this
"If the formula is correct, although the result is negative, you can display the value obtained by setting the cell shape with a pattern that is neither a date nor time. On the Format menu, click Cells, then click the Number tab and select a format other than a date format or time. "
therefore you can not get your display without tinkering with.
