Registry does not work for all values
I am testing my Vista Home Premium laptop.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop]
"Wallpaper" = "C:\beaches.jpg"
Windows tells me that the value was added, but the BDR did not move.
whereas if I do
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main]
"Start Page" = "http://www.google.com"
it works
Can any one explain me this?
Re: Registry does not work for all values
I think your Windows Registry is certainly messed up. Just repair your Windows with bootable CD and see if that works.
Re: Registry does not work for all values
Why don't you try something like this:
Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop]
"Wallpaper" = "C:\\beaches.jpg"
Re: Registry does not work for all values
Hey great work man! It works now!
I suppose the BDR expects this type of syntax and does not responds when it finds incorrect syntax's, even if the message has been successfully added, am I correct ?
