Copy of a bootable usb key
Hello,
I currently have a USB key that allows me to boot Acronis (restoration software).
And what I can do is copy this key to another (blank). For the new is as bootable (knowing I made the first key bootable with Acronis but I did have access).
Obviously copied the contents of the key to the other is not sufficient
Thank you in advance.
Re: Copy of a bootable usb key
Perhaps by making an image with Ghost? But this is only a suggestion, because I have not tried personal.
Anyway, Ghost is able to do this with hard drives, why not USB?
Re: Copy of a bootable usb key
Hello, after several Hours of misery I found the solution:
You must use dd.exe
the command to use is:
dd.exe if = \ \. \ G: of = D: \ file.raw
and then reverse the same command to copy to your key blank (much faster than copy key to key).
(for letters I let you put the proper size for the copy that is according to you)
dd.exe is very powerful, there are many options available.
Here is hoping to have helped the world.
