Re: Q6600 unstable at 3.6Ghz
it's a Q6600, a quad, and they go less well than the dual in overclocking, do not expect to be stable in aircooling to 3.6GHz, I was hard on my system.
Re: Q6600 unstable at 3.6Ghz
It is possible to mount a 3.6 ghz for H24 in aircooling, especially that my temperatures are good in my full tower noctua and well ventilated. for my case I would rather on fsb hole or heavy cpu unstable, I must soon receive my new corsair 650W power supply, right now it is a green power 500w Forton, is performing well but it has a ripple of 0.07 this does not help.
Re: Q6600 unstable at 3.6Ghz
hi,
my personal Q6600 has never held 4GHz, the maximum I could achieve is 3.84ghz with 1.50v (480 * on the maximus extreme chipset X38.Et in coef x9 I was to block 420de FSB (420 * 9 = 3780).Because the coefficient after the processor does not necessarily have the same limit has the same frequency. And on another kit ram in D fsb strap 400 does its not booting, while with larger fsb strap and another no problem.
So trying to go by step by lowering your ram frequency (With large non 5-5-5-15 timings),390 FSB setting, try to be as stable and its amount gradually.
