Desktop.ini Files Shown on the Desktop in Windows Vista
Hi friends,
I am having Windows Vista Install as my Operating System.From few days i am seeing a two files icons on my desktop name as Desktop.ini .I know that one has come from the following location C:\Users\Public\Desktop and don't know about the second one.I don't want to have both icons on my desktop i am getting irritated with this.Can anyone help me out with this issue.

Sure i will help you out with this issue try yo follow this steps:-
- Open My Computer.
- Click on Tool - -> Folder Options.
- Select View tab.
- Select Show files and Folder Options.

I tried to do that but it didn't worked any other Solution.

I was also facing the same issue because by default this two icons have the System, Hidden and Read-only attributes assigned. So they should not be showing on the Desktop unless the following option is disabled in Folder Options:
Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
Following are the steps:-
- Click on Start -- > Search - -> Type CONTROL FOLDERS.
- Select Unchecked Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
- Click on Apply.
- Re-checked the option and clicked Apply,OK.
Now the two desktop.ini files are no longer visible on the Desktop.
