Re: crossfire of HD 4850 will work on a 500w power supply
No you need atleast a 650 W Power Supply or more so that it would be quiet;)
Go with the Corsair TX - 650W. It has 5 years warranty. It gives a TX 650W silent power supply with its fan 12 cm, but also economically active PFC with a 0.99 and an efficiency close to 85%. Connectivity is no exception, with 8 S-ATA and PCI-Express 2.
Re: crossfire of HD 4850 will work on a 500w power supply
At least 650-700W you need. It runs well, it looks after such other opinions on other brands;)
Even a Corsair HX 520 would suffice:) No need for a small 700w CrossFire. It is not SLI or consumes much. The CrossFire take in less than 300w load. It is still not bad for the rest of the system:)
Re: crossfire of HD 4850 will work on a 500w power supply
The problem is that the 500W power supply will always be in charge and almost always be limited. Even with a very good gear it will break its days. So better opt for 650W to be not at a risky level.
