Blocking the computer at startup
Hello,
I just bought an ACER Aspire One. During a restart, I'm going to activate the password of the BIOS. Since then, I can not access anything in the PC.I mark the message "enter current password" in a blue and black background.
I tried to start doing "ctrl + alt + esc" I mark 4 or 5 lines on the fast memory and I remark "enter current password".
I tried to open it, but I have a strength and does not want to damage. I tried without the battery, removing the battery for about 6 hours. I spent about 5 hours trying to troubleshoot but no success.
I would like to know if anyone has had the problem and if not how to bypass the password so you can use the PC. The operating system is Linux. I do not know which version of bios, or it is the motherboard.
Thank you in advance to all who can help me.

Hey, download Ultimate Boot CD which contains cmospwd which will allow you to skip the BIOS password http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html
Re: Blocking the computer at startup
Thank you,
I tried with the software and others. I typed with the qwerty keyboard password and Nothing happens. I called a specialist who has managed to remove the battery. Now, I managed to recover access to the bios without a password.
I have the following message after the home screen.
Acer: "Please input password for hitachi HTS543212L9A.
The bios is V0.3114, the VGA BIOS version is Intel V1585.
The model of hard drive is Hitachi HTS543212L9A300.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Re: Blocking the computer at startup
Hello,
I managed to unlock the drive by putting a password in capitals, to 8 characters.
Explanation: The password for the bios was 9 characters, when I typed. The BIOS takes up to 8 characters, do not know because I have not watched the number of characters when entering.
The password for the hard disk is the same as the bios, so 8 characters. Once typed in all uppercase characters 8, the PC was released and it is again functional.
The problem is resolved.

You can try to reset the bios setting by removing cmos battery that may fix your issue. Or you can download Ultimate Boot CD which contains Cmos Pwd that allows you to skip the BIOS password. There are also many other tools available on the net to unlock the hard drive password, if you can search it on google.
