Install Windows XP on Dell Inspiron 1525 with SATA Drive

Hi .

I recently bought new dell inspiron 1525 with 120GB SATA with windows vista pre installed. I then bought Windows XP service pack 2 to install because i'm not that much good in using Windows Vista. But the SATA drives not comes with the drivers to run XP. Does anybody know where i can get this drivers.

First off, you'll need the SATA drivers on a USB floppy. Here is link for you.

SATA controller: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA AHCI Controller (rev 02)

If Windows XP has service pack 2 all you need to do is to go into the BIOS and place your CD or DVD drive as first bootable. Windows XP with SP2 will not install otherwise.

are you talking about loading the SATA drivers prior to installing XP (via F6 during setup)?
