Re: Graphic card for game?
hi,
A 4850 will be quite sufficient for this resolution. Around 120 €.
Not need an Xfire. If not for the margin I would suggest for a 4870 512 or GTX260.

I want to invest in a new graphics card to replace my 8800GTS 512MB.It is of course to play, my screen is a 22 "I want the graphics card takes the 1680x1050 resolution".
The choice seems relatively limited, but I wonder about the following possibilities:
HD4870 512MB, prices even more correct to see if the ram is sufficient.
Crossfire of HD4850 can be a bit more, but higher price and consolidated HD4870 higher too.
GTX260 close to the HD4870 but more expensive, especially interesting for the drivers compatible with Linux, it is the gallery with ATI cards.
For the budget, it depends, in fact it will be roughly the price of my 8800GTS 100 €.
To replace a 8800GTS 512?In my opinion, HD4870 512MB, it is the "minimum investment" if you want to win a lot of perfs. Or if you're interested in Crossfire HD4830 is almost as efficient a GTX280, and it is less expensive than a HD4870.
Re: Graphic card for game?
hi,
it's cool to see people who are willing to invest € 150 to win 2 FPS. Own a 8800 GTS is a good card to play. You should try to overclock a bit.

i was at the same situation I wanted to change up my 8800GTS 512MB but I changed my screen (19 ">> 24") and I can still play in good conditions and even to say I played with the same setting for Crysis Warhead (gamer), but now 1900x1200! For the price of 8800GTS there are between 90 € and 100 €.
